It’s time for the superweek at VCT Pacific 2023. With some big teams going up against each other on day 2 of the superweek, the VCT action promises to be unmatched. Team Secret will be taking on the first match of the day and later on, it will be Global Esports up against DetonatioN FocusMe. Let’s check out the predictions of these two matchups!

VCT Pacific Superweek Day 2 Predictions

Team Secret vs DRX

Rosters

Team Secret
  • Jessie ‘JessieVash’ Cristy Cuyco
  • Jayvee ‘DubsteP’ Paguirigan
  • Jim ‘BORKUM’ Timbreza
  • Jeremy ‘Jremy’ Cabrera
  • Adrian ‘invy’ Reyes
DRX
  • Kim ‘stax’ Gu-taek
  • Goo ‘Rb’ Sang-Min
  • Kim ‘Zest’ Gi-seok
  • Yu ‘BuZz’ Byung-chul
  • Kim ‘MaKo’ Myeong-kwan

Our Prediction

Our first matchup of the day will be taking place between Team Secret and DRX. DRX are currently at the top of the table of VCT 2023: Pacific League. Meanwhile, Team Secret has plenty of work left to do if they wanna qualify as they are currently on 7th position. The two teams have faced each other only once before with DRX walking away with a 2-0 win at Daejeon Valorant Invitational. With DRX being unbeaten at this tournament and Team Secret winning 3 of their 7 matches so far, it is highly likely that this result will repeat itself.  We are predicting a walk in the park for DRX as they should be seeing out a 2-0 win on this series.

Global Esports vs DetonatioN FocusMe

Rosters

Global Esports
  • Ganesh ‘SkRossi’ Gangadhar
  • Kim ‘t3xture’ Na-ra
  • Cahya ‘Monyet’ Nugraha
  • Jordan ‘AYRIN’ He
  • Park ‘Bazzi’ Jun-ki
DetonatioN FocusMe
  • Seo ‘Suggest’ Jae-young
  • Ryumon ‘Reita’ Oshiro
  • Tomoki ‘xnfri’ Moriya
  • Yoshitaka ‘Anthem’ Enomoto
  • Park ‘Seoldam’ Sang-min

Our Prediction

For our second matchup, we have Global Esports facing DetonatioN FocusMe. Global Esports is currently 8th on the standings while DFM is placed last. DFM are yet to pick up a single win throughout this tournament and that is a shame. But GE hasn’t been that impressive either, picking up only two wins against Talon Esports and Gen. G. DFM has lost all 10 of their last 10 competitive matches and it’s unlikely that they will win one anytime soon. Despite GE losing their last match against RRQ, they are still pumped to be at this tournament. Even though the two teams have not faced each other before, it’s likely that Global Esports will be walking into this one well prepared. We predict a 2-1 win for Global Esports in this matchup.

With a few more weeks left, we’re heading to the business end as the playoffs will start soon. Currently, it’s DRX, PRX and T1 that have taken up the first three spots of the table.
