2018 CS:GO Hall of Fame

Over the years, Counter-Strike accumulated a huge professional circuit. There are hundreds of teams competing each day, and new talents and players are emerging on the stage every single day. In today’s article, we will try to point out the players who we feel would belong in a CSGO Hall of Fame. 

VIRTUS.PRO LINEUP

As a sign of respect, these guys, the entire roster deserves to be on the top. Their entire line-up played a big part in creating Counter-Strike:Global Offensive as popular as it is today. Sadly, the team is falling apart with 3 players already leaving the roster, that being TaZ, Snax, and Byali. This team won a lot of tournaments throughout the year, most famously known for the “Virtus plow” chants. However, they are veterans now, and they simply can not compete with the rising talent in the likes of Astralis and Natus Vincere. But their names will definitely be written in the CS:GO history books. Here are their 1st place finishes throughout the years.

Even though Virtus.Pro players are not in their prime anymore, they accumulated a lot of MVP awards throughout the years of competing. Snax had 7 MVP awards before leaving to Mousesports, PashaBiceps has 3, including one Major MVP award. Lastly, NEO has 2 MVP awards.

Robin “flusha” Rönnquist

Robin is still relatively young CS:GO player, as he turned 24 this year. However, he achieved so much throughout his career that he definitely deserves a spot in our Hall of Fame list. Mostly known as Senor Vac, Flusha has been accused of cheating in every tournament. His ability to predict enemies and to position himself in response to that is brutal. He managed to win 3 Major titles with his legendary Fnatic squad until he was transferred to the North American organization Cloud9 in order to revitalize his career.

He was also crowned as the MVP of one of the 3 Majors he participated in, and he won a total of $717,761. He was rated in the top 20 players of the year in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Flusha also helped his team win a total of 30 tournaments, which is a huge number. Alongside his Major MVP award, he has 3 others:

– SLTV StarSeries X Finals

Overall, there is still gunpowder left in Robin, and he could prove to be one of the main players to help Cloud9 retain their spot as the best North American team.

Jesper “JW” Wecksell

Flusha’s teammate in old Fnatic roster, where they achieved a lot of great results. JW is a Swedish born player who was born in 1995. He is mainly known for his crazy aggressive style of play with an AWP. He is also a capable rifler, and once he gets going, he can not be stopped. A fun fact about Jesper, he has his own gaming store in his hometown in Sweden.

He won a total of 21 tournaments in his career, and he was crowned as an MVP a total of 3 times. He was also voted in the top 10 players in the world in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Once Fnatic was on a terror, Olofmeister and JW were the two main stars their team relied on. However, once Olofmeister left the squad, things were never the same again, but because JW is only 23 years old, he will definitely have a chance to cement his place among the best players in the world.

Christopher “GeT_RiGhT Alesund

Another famous veteran on the list. Christoper has been around ever since the Counter-Strike 1.6, but he cemented himself as one of the best once he started competing in CS:GO. GeT_:RiGhT is a Swedish player who only played for one team, that being NIP. He is most famous because of his lurking, and ability to get multi-kills.

Swedish rifler has one Major title under his belt, followed by 23 won tournaments and 10 MVP awards. However, he is not in his prime anymore, but there are some flashes of old GeT_RiGht every once in a while. Overall, a true legend, for whom sportsmanship and having fun was always a priority. He was voted as the best CS:GO player in the world in 2013 and 2014. He was also second best in 2010 and 2011. In 2015 he was 11th, and lastly, in, 2016 he was 18th.

Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg

Another member from NIP roster is on the list, fellow Swedish veteran F0rest. Just like GeT_RiGht, Patrik was on a different level a couple of years ago. However, he is somehow more consistent than his GeT_RiGhT. F0rest is mostly known for his sharp aim, ability to play with any other weapon, mainly an AWP. Mixed with his enormous experience, you think that you have to play versus a machine or a cheater.

Patrik has won a lot of trophies as well. He also won one Major title, and 24 various leagues and tournaments. He was also crowned as an MVP 8 times, however, his last MVP award was presented to him in late 2016. To conclude, if this guy gets going, there is no stopping him, not just because of his aim, but because how good of a player he overall is. F0rest earned himself a total of $608.071.

Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev

This is probably the youngest Hall of Famer on our list. Aleksandar was born in late 1997, which makes him only 21. At the moment he is playing for a Ukranian organization, Natus Vincere. He is rated as the best CS:GO player in 2018, with a huge rating of 1.32. Even though he did not win a lot of tournaments in his career, he definitely made a mark on each one he participated in. His aim is insane, his ability to play either as a rifler or an AWPer is ridiculous, and I do not even want to start talking about his Desert Eagle skills and ability to take people heads off with just one bullet.

He does not have a single Major under his belt, but he has won 5 different tournaments, and he has 7 MVP awards to his name. Numbers are strange when it comes to him, but this says a lot about his capability to constantly frag. Being crowned as an MVP of a tournament that you lost takes something special, and S1mple is a very special player.

Marcelo “coldzera” David

A Brazilian born player, who will turn 23 later in October. He is a former SK member, who is now playing for a Brazilian organization MIBR. Coldzera is mostly known for his ability to do something out of nothing. Give him a weapon and he will produce results(in this case headshots). He is mainly a rifler, but he is also very capable of being a secondary AWPer of the team. Furthermore, his ability to anchor a bomb site is out of this world, and in my opinion, he is probably the best anchor player in the world.

He was at his best while the team was playing for the SK organization. They have won a lot of different tournaments and leagues, including 2 Majors, and he was awarded an MVP award for both of those Majors. He and his teammates won a total of 13 trophies, and alongside his 2 Major MVPs, he also has 6 other MVP awards. Marcelo was voted as the best player in the world for two years in a row, 2016, and 2017 – safe to say he belongs in this years csgo hall of fame induction.

Kenny “kennyS” Schrub

Even though Kenny is only 23, he has been around CS:GO scene for a while now. He is purely known for his lightning-fast reactions and AWP skills. He is a awful type of player to play against. If he gets going there is no stopping him, he will hit every flick shot, and you can not offer him anything, not even a shoulder.

He was voted among the 13 best players for 5 years in a row. He also managed to add one Major trophy to his cabinet, followed by the Major MVP award. He won 11 tournaments in total, and he as 10 MVP awards to his name.

Somehow it feels kennyS could achieve much more if he decides to leave French organization G2. I personally think a lot of organizations are willing to offer him a contract, especially Cloud9 who main AWPer decided to leave the server for good.

Nicolai “device” Reedtz

A Danish superstar who is currently playing in Astralis. Mechanically, Nicolai may not be the best AWPer and a rifler, but his game sense and IQ are out of this world, positioning and repositioning as well. A lot of people will call him boring, but he is putting kills on board in every single tournament he plays in.

He won a lot of tournaments with Astralis, including 2 Major titles, followed by 14 other tournaments. Furthermore, he has 9 MVP awards to his name, including one Major MVP award.

Device is a type of player who could choose the team he wants to play in. He will never put himself in front of team, he is consistent, he has fast reactions. Overall, a perfect fit for any team. So far he has bagged himself a total of $933.801.

Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom

There is not much to say about this guy. Definitely the best raw aimer in the game, ever. Period. He has been on top of every Counter-Strike:Global Offensive highlight video. He played his best CS:GO while he was a part of EnvyUs. However, they parted ways and ever since Adil is a free agent, who occasionally plays as a stand-in. However, it is just a matter of time before he is picked up by a higher tiered organization. Like many other players, once he gets going there is not stopping him, he will one tap everyone. You can not give him a chance, as he is capable to win multiple duels in only a couple of seconds.

ScreaM did not achieve much in his career so far, as he only won a couple of tournaments, and he has only 1 MVP award to his name. He was also voted as the 7th best CS:GO player in 2013 and 9th in 2016. Even though this seems like he did not do much, his sick ability to find headshots is what made him popular.

Vincent “Happy” Schopenhauer

Vincent was inactive for the most part of 2018, but he is coming back in style. He will captain newly formed team Vitality. However, prior to this, he played a big part in CS:GO eSports scene. Mainly, he was an in-game leader and a rifler/lurker for French teams. Not a lot of people enjoy watching him play, but he definitely made his mark in Counter-Strike:Global Offensive. Some may refer to him as a baiter, but to be honest, he is playing a role where you will either win a round yourself or your teammates will die and you will be in a no man’s land.

Happy has won 2 Major titles, followed by one Major MVP award. Alongside Majors, he has also won a total of 12 different tournaments, and he was crowned as an MVP for 4 times in total.

Future is bright for Happy and his new team, as he will captain one of the best talents in CS:GO, Zywoo.

Nikola “Niko” Kovač

Nikola is also a very young, but very experienced and capable player. Bosnian has proven himself while he was playing for a German roster, Mousesports. His precision and first bullet accuracy are what makes him so good. He is also capable of in-game leading and putting frags on the board continuously. That sealed him a move to FaZe Clan, where he proved himself as their best player as well.

Niko does not have a lot of tournaments under his belt, as he only won 6 tournaments in total. However, he has 3 MVP awards to his name. Furthermore, Niko was voted as the second best player in 2017.

The only thing Niko lacks is a Major title, which I am sure he will win eventually, as he is getting better every year. The trend will definitely continue.

Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer

Another ex-Fnatic and Swedish player is among the best ever. Mainly, Olof is a rifler, a very capable one, as he is able to deliver multi frags regularly. He is also very proficient with an AWP as well. He played his best CS:GO under Fnatic. Once he moved to FaZe Clan, he was idle for a while, because he was coping with an injury. However, he is back now, and he is improving constantly.

Olofmeister was voted as the best player in the world in 2015, the time when he was on a terror with Fnatic. So far in his career, he won a total of 2 Major titles, and he was once an MVP of an Major. He also has 19 other tournaments and leagues in his trophy cabinet, followed by 4 other MVP awards.

Adam “friberg” Friberg

Yet another veteran makes his way on our list. Adam was active ever since 2007, that is over a decade of competing in eSports events. Friberg made his name famous back in the days when the competition was not that strong. He is mainly an in-game leader, but his recoil control is mind-blowing. He was playing his best CS:GO while he was a part of NIP roster, a couple of years ago.

Even though he is not at his best lately, Adam achieved a lot in his professional career. Mainly, he has won a Major title and he was also an MVP of that Major. He also won a total of 23 tournaments so far in his career.  

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo

Second Brazilian on the list. He is an in-game leader and an AWPer for MIBR. However, he played his best CS:GO while he was a part of SK organization. Gabriel is a very capable AWPer, not just because of his fast reactions, mainly because of his positioning and ability to predict his enemies.

Fallen won a total of 13 tournaments in his career, 2 Major titles as well. He also received 4 MVP awards for his AWP skills, and he was voted as the second best player in 2016.

However, this is not why Gabriel makes this list. He earned a total of $850,057. He did not keep the money for himself, he invested in the eSports in Brazil. He gave back to the community. It shows how grateful he is. Furthermore, he is an owner of Games Academy, an eSports organization whose main goal is to find talented players and provide them with the best conditions to practice and compete.

Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács

A Slovakian player, mainly an AWPer, who proved himself as one of the best for a couple of years now. Ladislav is a great mixture between an aggressive and a passive player. You never know what can you expect from him. That made him very popular and high in demand, as he was transferred from Natus Vincere to FaZe Clan, where he is still proving that he belongs at the top.

For a 27 years old player, Guardian has played a huge number of tournaments. He came on top 14 times and has 7 various MVP awards to his name. Furthermore, he was voted as the second best player in 2015, and he made the list for 5 years in a row, which shows how consistent he is.

Just like his teammate Niko, Ladislav only lacks a Major trophy to seal himself among the best players in the world, but there are still a lot of Majors in front of him.
