With only four teams remaining, we are at the peak of BLAST R6 Copenhagen Major. Today we have the two semifinals: w7m Esports vs Soniqs & FaZe Clan vs Team Liquid. With two promising matches in store, let’s take a look at the predictions of BLAST Copenhagen semifinals.

BLAST R6 Copenhagen Semifinals Predictions

FaZe Clan vs Team Liquid

Rosters

FaZe Clan
  • Jaime ‘Cyber’ Ramos
  • Lucas ‘soulz1’ Schinke
  • Victor ‘VITAKING’ Augusto dos Santos
  • Thiago ‘Handyy’ Sá Ferreira
  • Eduardo ‘KDS’ Chiste Fontes
Team Liquid
  • André ‘nesk’ Oliveira
  • Luccas ‘Paluh’ Molina
  • Pablo ‘resetz’ Oliveira
  • Lorenzo ‘Lagonis’ Volpi
  • Gabriel ‘volpz’ Fernandes

Our Prediction

The first semifinal of the night will be between FaZe Clan and Team Liquid. There’s no doubting that both are heavyweights in the world of Rainbow Six Siege. If we’re talking recent form, FaZe Clan have displayed a better performance during the playoffs finishing second to w7m. Meanwhile, Team Liquid finished 6th and barely made it into the finals stage. In terms of head-to-head, FaZe have won their last two meetings against Team Liquid. Can they do it this time around? Well, it will surely be a close one and it’s highly likely that we’ll play out all three maps. Owing to recent form, we predict a 2-1 victory for FaZe Clan.

W7m Esports vs Soniqs

Rosters

W7m Esports
  • Gustavo ‘HerdsZ’ Herdina
  • Diego ‘Kheyze’ Zanello
  • João ‘Jv92’ Vitor
  • Felipe ‘FelipoX’ De Lucia
  • Felipe ‘nade’ Sá Ferreira
Soniqs
  • Pablo ‘Gryxr’ Rebeil
  • Richie ‘Rexen’ Coronado
  • Emilio ‘Geometrics’ Leynez Cuevas
  • Shaun ‘Gunnar’ Pottorff
  • Ben ‘CTZN’ McMillan

Our Prediction

Our second semifinal of Copenhagen will be taking place between w7m and Soniqs. Both the teams have displayed a dominant form throughout the duration of the tournament. W7m were unbeaten during the playoffs winning all three of their matches. Meanwhile, Soniqs lost one match and it was against w7m themselves. With that in mind, it is highly likely that w7m will be repeating the result. Soniqs will have to put on a nasty show if they want to see themselves in the finals. So, we predict that it will be a 2-1 win for w7m esports.

We’ll see at the end of the night which two teams make their way to the finals of the BLAST R6 Copenhagen Major.

We are done and dusted with the group stage action of IEM Rio 2023. With some top teams already making it to the playoffs, it’s misery for the fans of Fnatic and FaZe Clan as they have been eliminated from the tournament. Let’s find out how their journey went and who actually qualified from their group.

Group B Of IEM Rio 2023

The Group B of Rio this year had quite a few powerhouse teams including the likes of FaZe, Cloud9 and Team Vitality. For the rest of the teams in the group like Fnatic, it would be a challenge to make it to the playoffs.

Fnatic and FaZe Clan’s Journey At IEM Rio 2023

Both the teams walked into Rio with high hopes. With both teams being placed in group B, they had to take down some big names to have a shot at the playoffs.

Fnatic began their journey at Rio facing FURIA Esports. Unfortunately, for them, FURIA meant business and conceded the first game to them 19-15. Fnatic were then relegated to the lower bracket where they faced 9z Team. There Fnatic made a comeback of 2-1 after losing the first map to them. They then had to face OG at the lower bracket semifinal. Their dreams of winning the major came crashing down as OG thumped them 2-0.

FaZe Clan, on the other hand, started off their journey at Rio with a sleek 16-3 win over 9z team. However, their run was halted as it was FURIA yet again who this time came knocking on the door of FaZe. They lost their series 2-0 to FURIA and were forced to the lower bracket. In the lower bracket, they had to face another giant- none other than Team Vitality. A determined Vitality roster made sure FaZe couldn’t progress further as they won 2-0.

The Series

Map 1 (Mirage)

Cloud9 started their map pick of Mirage on defense first. And the team had started it off just the way they wanted! C9 easily picked up the first five rounds getting down a few defuses. While FaZe did show some resistance, they couldn’t for long. Cloud9 started to dominate the first half yet again. The first half ended 11-4 in favor of Cloud9. In the second half, the sides were reversed but C9 again won the first two pistol rounds. However, when they were just inches away from picking up the map, FaZe made an insane comeback. When the scoreline was 14-5 in favor of Cloud9, FaZe stepped up and kept picking up round after round barely flinching. Winning six straight rounds at the end meant it was now overtime. In overtime, FaZe won all of their four rounds to pick up the first map.

Map 2 (Inferno)

Cloud9 started on FaZe’s map pick winning the pistol rounds again. But FaZe seemed determined to see out the series on the second map. They won 8 rounds straight with some deadly frags coming from rain. The first half ended 11-4 in favor of FaZe and they were just a few rounds away from Paris Major qualification. The roles were reversed in the second half. But this time it was  FaZe that finally won a pistol round. Even though things were neck and neck in the second half, it was too little, too late for C9. FaZe picked up the series soon winning Inferno 16-9.

FaZe At Blast Paris Major 2023

FaZe Clan is off to the Blast Paris Major 2023. The tournament will begin on May 8th and end on 11th. The champion of the tournament will directly qualify for both the BLAST Premier World Final and IEM Cologne 2023. So, there’s no chance in hell that FaZe will pass up this opportunity to pick up another title.

But keeping Paris Major 2023 aside, there’s the IEM Rio Major starting from tomorrow as well. We’ll come back to you soon with action from Rio!

IEM Katowice 2023 is running hot as we just got started with group A action today. With the matches already going on as we write this, let’s find out who were the victors on day one. Do check out our previous Katowice 2023 article to learn about this year’s event.

IEM Katowice 2023 Group A

Regarded by many as the group of death, group A is surely delivering us the action CS:GO fans are craving for. With the likes of G2, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid and NaVi in group A, the hype is justified. Group A consists of the following teams:

  • Team Liquid
  • IHC Esports
  • Cloud9
  • Natus Vincere
  • G2 Esports
  • BIG
  • Team Spirit
  • FaZe Clan

Now, let’s check out all the matches of group A of day 1.

Group A Day 1 Matches

G2 Esports vs BIG

Being directly qualified into the group stage, G2’s first opponent was BIG. The Blast Premier World Final 2022 was up against the Roobet Cup 2022 winners. Despite BIG getting the first map pick, it didn’t end well for them. G2 picked up both Anubis and Inferno with a 2-0 clean sweep.

Cloud9 vs Natus Vincere

Meanwhile, G2’s arch rival, NaVi was busy dealing with Cloud9. NaVi showed up on matchday with a clear game plan in mind. That was well reflected in the series between the two teams. On a day where s1mple had barely stepped up, it was the likes of electroNic and b1t that took matters into their own hands. In the end, NaVi walked away with a clean 2-0 win over Cloud9.

Team Spirit vs FaZe Clan

Team Spirit faced the mighty FaZe Clan in the upper bracket quarter finals. Captain Karrigan had an amazing field day leading his team to victory from the front. The team didn’t have to go to a third map and won their series 2-0. They won 16-5 on Ancient and 16-12 on Nuke. Team Spirit will face BIG at the lower bracket quarter finals.

Team Liquid vs IHC Esports

On the last series of day 1 of Katowice 2023 group A, Team Liquid was paired against IHC Esports. IHC showed up but their efforts fell short as Liquid picked up both maps 16-13 and 16-6. The two maps were Iferno and Overpass. IHC will be facing Cloud9 in the lower bracket quarter finals.

Who’s meeting at the upper bracket semifinals?

It’s getting hotter and hotter here at IEM Katowice 2023 group A. Team Liquid is set to face Natus Vincere and G2 will be facing FaZe today. Both matchups are well-balanced and there will be no love lost when the teams will be facing each other. All four of the teams have a terrific shot at winning this major but unfortunately, two will have to take the harder route at the end of the day.

We are over and done with the Round of 12 of ESL Pro League Season 16. From 29th September, the quarterfinals are to commence. Let’s find out who made it to the ESL quarterfinals and also get some predictions rolling!

Quarterfinals Teams

  • Cloud9
  • FaZe Clan
  • MOUZ
  • Team Liquid
  • G2 Esports
  • Natus Vincere
  • Team Vitality
  • Outsiders

ESL Quarterfinals Day 1 Predictions

Cloud9 vs FaZe Clan

The OG Counter-Strike fans will never forget the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 final between C9 and FaZe. It might not be as grand this time around but is a game to watch out for nonetheless. Cloud9 is in a pretty hot form if we take out the last series against Team Liquid on the last day of Group D. They have won the rest of their four group matches. FaZe Clan didn’t start as impressively, however. They lost only to G2 in the group stage but picked up a scrappy win over Complexity in the Round of 12.

The two teams have met each other four times this season. Cloud9 picked up the last win and the first three were won by FaZe. The last meeting was in July and to be fair, FaZe’s form dipped quite a bit after that. On the other hand, Cloud9 seemed to get better as they kept playing during the group stage. With that being said, it’s really tough to pick a winner here but we’re going for a 2-1 win for Cloud9.

MOUZ vs Team Liquid

Team Liquid have barely made it to the playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 16. However, an impressive victory over Fnatic in the Round of 12 has given the team some much needed momentum. Topping Group C, MOUZ have definitely impressed the crowd as they look to make it through the quarterfinals of ESL.

This series could really go either way. Team Liquid looks to have recovered from their form during the group stage. Despite MOUZ having a better form in the tournament, Liquid’s experience might prove to be the victor. Our guts say that it will turn out to be a 2-1 win in favor of Team Liquid.

Things are getting hot at Berlin as the Six Berlin Major 2022 is well underway. But surely most of the eyes were on FaZe Clan and G2 as they faced each other on day 2 of the Six Berlin Major. So, how did the match turn out? Stay tuned to find out more at Gamopo!

FaZe at Six Berlin Major

FaZe Clan have been deemed as the favorite Brazilian representives of the Six Berlin Major. They have been crowned the latest Sweden Major and Copa Elite Six victors after all! FaZe Clan are in Group B against the likes of SANDBOX Gaming, Soniqs and ofcourse, G2. But they have established themselves as a potential Berlin winner beating all three teams so far. Their biggest challenge yet was against G2 at the map Bank.

Match Proceedings

The match began with G2 starting on defense. An early kill of Bullet1 eased the round for G2. Soulz1 put up quite the fight but it was too little, too late as G2 picked up the first round. But FaZe responded strongly as they breached the site fast, planting right after picking up kills. The score was then even at 1-1. FaZe then went for an ambitious attacking plan in the next round but it fell into pieces and G2 picked up the round. But the scores were level once again as FaZe won round 4. FaZe did not stop there as they went on to win the next two rounds as well with the scoreline reading 4-2 in their favor.

The roles were now reversed as it was FaZe’s turn to defend. But FaZe replicated their level of dominance in the attacking rounds as they won the first two defending rounds with ease. Round 9 provided quite the entertainment as G2 won a well-deserved 2v3. With matchpoint, FaZe was supposed to win it sooner or later but won it the craziest way possible. An insane ace by Cyber secured the match for FaZe.

FaZe Clan really showed that they’re a force to be reckoned with at Six Berlin Major 2022.

The stage was set as Natus Vincere (NAVI) met FaZe Clan in the finals of IEM Cologne 2022. What started off with 24 teams earlier this month now trickled down to only them. The two teams clashed with guns blazing as FaZe Clan emerged as the victor.

  • FaZe picks Inferno (First map)
  • NAVI picks Overpass (Second map)
  • FaZe picks Ancient (Third map)
  • NAVI picks Mirage (Fourth map)
  • Nuke left  (Final map)

First Map (Inferno)

With Inferno being FaZe’s first pick, you’d expect them to win it. Right from the get go, they played accordingly. FaZe Clan won the first 5 rounds without flinching at all. For the first time in the map, things went NAVI’s way and they won the next 4 rounds thanks to team efforts. Things went back and forth a little before NAVI picked up the lead for the first time making the score 6-7 in their favor. The two finalists kept going at each other as the scoreboard read 12-12. FaZe put it into fifth gear to win 3 rounds back to back making it 15-12. There was a little bit of resistance but FaZE picked up the first map 16-13.

Second Map (Overpass)

It was the first map pick for Natus Vincere but FaZe took the first round. S1mple then took the risk of buying an AK despite losing the first round and it paid off. They picked up the second round thanks to his brilliance. For the first time after the 2nd round, the scores were levelled 5-5 between the two teams. The first half of the second map ended 8-7 in favor of NAVI. After the half, it continued to be balanced for the next few rounds as well and things started tipping in favor of FaZe. But the lead didn’t last for long as NAVI took 7 consecutive rounds. While things seemed a little shaky as FaZe Clan won the next two to make 15-13, perfecto stepped up and defused the bomb right in time to win the map.

A new overpowered boost has been discovered on Overpass - WIN.gg

Third Map (Ancient)

Right from the start, FaZe’s pick seemed to have been NAVI’s. NAVI won the first 8 rounds straight without any problem whatsoever. The form continued as the scoreboard read 15-4. It should’ve been moments before NAVI picked up their second map in a row but this is Counter-Strike! When it matter the most, FaZe responded. They won 11 rounds consecutively to tie the map and head into overtime. Natus recollected themselves and won it in overtime thanks to a 200 IQ defuse by b1t. They were now just one map away from becoming champions.

Fourth Map (Mirage)

It was NAVI’s pick again in the fourth map of the finals of IEM Cologne 2o22. They started off well as they picked up the first 3 rounds, no issues whatsoever. But then issues started arising out of thin air. FaZe levelled it 3-3 and then went on dominate the rest of the first half. They ended the first half 10-5 in their favor. NAVI did show some fight in the second half but it just wasn’t enough. FaZE picked up the fourth map winning it 16-9.

Fifth Map (Nuke)

The fans asked for a fifth map and the finalists, FaZe and NAVI delivered it in the grand finals of IEM Cologne 2022. NAVI started off the best way possible picking up the first 5 rounds. However, they couldn’t hold onto their lead for long as FaZe Clan responded drawing the map 6-6. But the first half ended 8-7 in favor of Natus Vincere. FaZe turned the map around in their favor and had a 4-point advantage making it 13-9. NAVI responded and won 4 straight rounds, the 4th being a clutch by perfecto. 13-13 soon turned into 14-14. And just when it looked like it’ll go into overtime, twistzzz and karrigan stepped up to pick up the next two rounds. And that is how FaZE Clan finally won it all at Cologne!

With yet another major under their belt, FaZe Clan are now the best CS:GO champions of the entire world.

XSET faced FaZe Clan this weekend at the lower bracket finals of NA VCT Challengers 2. The winner gets the final NA spot at the Copenhagen Masters 2022. To the demise of the clan, that spot was clinched by XSET. How did the matches turn out and how did Faze miss out Masters Copenhagen? Keep reading to find out more!

Well, how crazy can a match go? Two teams fight, they go guns blazing against each other. Someone wins map, the other wins the next one and on and on, right? But not this match. Something super out of the ordinary happened in Map 4 of this series.

What happened in Map 4?

After losing Map 3 to XSET and losing the first round to them on Map 4, more bad news awaited. At the start of the 2nd round, four of Faze’s players got disconnected. Poised, supamen, Flyuh and babybay just stood still in front of B Main. A technical pause soon ensued as the players got disconnected. While the official stream initially stated that it was a small gear issue, that wasn’t the case.

The stream went back to the casters, SideShow Gaming and BrenCasts where the pair let the viewers know that there has been a power outage. Plenty of pauses and advertising breaks went back and forth till the match returned after almost two whole hours. In the mean time, the team had relocated to a different facility. By that time, it had already been decided that the 2nd round will not be replayed as damage had already been dealt before the players disconnected. Questions then arose with fans asking, “Where’s Faze playing from?”.  A tweet from Poised soon cleared the air:

The tweet has been deleted by Poised hours after it was posted.

How did fans react?

Unsurprisingly, there were mixed reactions on the incident all over Twitter. While some fans were willing to do anything to help the org, others were quick to criticize the clan. Some couldn’t digest the fact that players of a team like Faze Clan are having to play from an internet cafe. Faze Clan are yet to make an official statement regarding this entire situation as of yet.

Map Results

Map 1:  11-13 win for Faze at Split

Map 2: 13-10 win for XSET at Breeze

Map 3: 14-16 overtime win for XSET at Icebox

Map 4: 13-4 win for XSET at Ascent

As you can pretty much see from the score lines, the first three maps went neck-to-neck. None of the teams held back from going all in and it certainly showed.

XSET dephh must be on top of the world. XSET’s IGL had this to say before the game:

I know everyone is thinking that we’re a top-4 finish only (team) , but I think this is the stage that we break through and say, ‘F**K Y’ALL.
